The Sustainable Cities Discussion Forum series, initiated by the City of Helsinki and the UN University UNU-WIDER, continues on its second edition in collaboration with HundrED Innovation Summit. This time the focus will be on the future of education, in line with the event’s theme Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goal 4 “Quality Education”.
On Wednesday 26 October, the event features a keynote address from world-renowned development economist Lant Pritchett. He and other leading education innovators and specialists from around the world will shine a light on education gaps, case examples, and the concrete steps that need to be taken to move from talk to action. Other speakers include Mayor of Helsinki Juhana Vartiainen, UNU-WIDER Director Kunal Sen, Dream a dream Associate Director Varsha Pillai and Head of Education Development Services of Helsinki Education Division Marjo Kyllönen. The first day’s events will take place on the picturesque island of Hanasaari.
The event will be moderated by former Yle News reporter Denise Wall.
